Snowmen At Night
First graders read the book Snowmen At Night and brainstormed ideas of what they would do at night if they were snowmen. They illustrated their ideas in art and then wrote about them in their classroom. Their illustrations showed snowmen sledding, skating, drinking hot cocoa, and giving Valentines.... This collaborative art and writing project was lots if fun!!

The kiln is fixed!
Today kindergarten students started creating heart shaped pinch pots. 5 th graders began sculpting "heads" from clay. Our kiln is working again so it was great to get our hands dirty with some clay today!!

If You're a Monster and You Know It....
We read the "sing along" book, "If you're a monster an you know it" then students designed their own brightly colored collage monsters and "illustrated" action words to describe their creations!
James Rizzi inspired artwork
Got these fun ideas from deepspacesparkle. James Rizzi's colorful and playful artwork inspired 2nd,4th and 5 th grade students as they created paintings of birds, buildings with "character" and cities that were alive!
5th grade cityscape prints
Fifth graders painted watercolor warm skies and cool water backgrounds. Then they designed and carved printing plates of cityscapes. They printed cityscapes on the warm halves of their paintings then created a mirror image print by folding and printing into the cool painted water. The results are some beautiful reflections!
Fall artwork- better late than never!!
This fall kindergarteners created self portraits popping up from a collage pile of warm colored leaves. First graders made self portraits swinging from tire swings.
